The Buckler story

Buckler Boots was set up in 1998 and is based in Dundee, Scotland. Its founders brought more than 70 years of combined experience in footwear and safety boot manufacturing, and the brand has kept a simple focus: strength, comfort and durability. Buckler now supplies more than 2,000 merchant customers, and we are proud to be one of them.

The guarantee: Body and Sole Together Forever

Buckler backs its boots with a guarantee it calls "Body and Sole Together Forever": the upper and the sole will not part during the effective lifetime of the original sole. Sole separation is one of the commonest ways work boots fail, so it is a meaningful promise.

If you have a problem with a Buckler boot you bought from us, contact us and we will help with the claim.

BBZ safety wellingtons

The BBZ is the boot many people know Buckler for. Buckler call it their No.1 product of its type in Europe. BBZ wellingtons are made from neoprene and rubber and insulated against heat and cold, so they are a step up from a basic PVC safety wellie for long days outside.

  • BBZ6000: the original neoprene and rubber safety wellington.
  • BBZ8000: builds on the BBZ6000. S5, fully non-metallic with a nano toecap, ankle impact protection, cold insulated to -17°C and SRC slip resistance, in five hi-vis colourways.
  • BBZ9000: the hi-vis BBZ safety wellington.

Which Buckler range?

  • Buckshot: dark brown leather work boots: hikers, dealers, riggers and high legs with a side zip. Many are waterproof.
  • Buckflex: premium leather safety dealer boots, including the waterproof B1180.
  • Buckz Viz: high-visibility, metal-free waterproof safety boots for road, rail and site work.
  • Tradez: lightweight waterproof boots, such as the Blastz high leg side zip, plus Fitgo safety trainers.
  • Wizardz: hard-wearing safety work and dealer boots at an everyday price.

You can filter by range on our Buckler page.

S3, S5 and S7: choosing the safety rating

Buckler boots are tested to EN ISO 20345. In short:

  • S3: protective toe cap, anti-penetration midsole, water-resistant upper and cleated sole. The usual site requirement.
  • S5: rubber or polymer boots such as wellingtons, with toe and penetration protection.
  • S7: everything in S3, plus a fully waterproof boot.

Extra letters add more: for example SRC for slip resistance, HRO for a heat-resistant outsole, CI for cold insulation and AN for ankle protection. Always check what your site or employer requires.

Sizing, stock and VAT

Each product page shows the sizes we have in stock right now. Every boot listed is on our shelves in Leighton Buzzard, and we don't drop ship. Protective safety footwear is zero-rated for VAT when bought by an individual for their own use. If you are buying for your staff, VAT is normally due: see our Terms.
