1. About us
This website is run by Toolmonkey Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 02884925). Our registered office and store are at Units 9-10 Clipstone Brook, Cherry Court Way, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire LU7 4GP. Our VAT number is GB694833879.
You can contact us by phone on 01525 374287 (option 2), Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5pm, or through our contact page.
2. These terms
These terms apply to every order you place on toolmonkey.co.uk. Please read them before you order. They explain who we are, how we sell products to you, how you and we can change or end the contract, and what to do if there's a problem.
Some parts apply only to consumers (people buying wholly or mainly for personal use) and some only to business customers. We say so where that's the case. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on the website when you place your order is the one that applies to it.
3. Placing an order
You must be 18 or over to place an order. When you place an order, we email you to acknowledge it. This acknowledgement doesn't mean we have accepted your order. The contract between us starts when we despatch your order and email you to confirm it has been sent.
We may decline an order. For example, an item may be out of stock, there may be an error in the price or description, we may be unable to deliver to your address, or we may suspect fraud. If we do, we'll tell you and refund anything you have paid.
4. Prices and payment
All prices are in pounds sterling (£). The price you pay at checkout includes VAT at the current UK rate. You can switch the prices shown on the website between including and excluding VAT. Delivery charges, where they apply, are shown at checkout before you pay.
We try hard to show correct prices. If we find an obvious pricing error after you have ordered, we'll contact you before despatch and you can choose to go ahead at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
We accept the payment methods shown at checkout, currently major debit and credit cards and PayPal (see Payments). Unless you have a trade account with us, payment is taken in full when you place your order.
5. Stock and product information
We hold the stock we sell in our own warehouse. Stock levels on the website come from our stock system and are updated regularly, but very occasionally an item may sell out before your order is processed. If that happens, we'll contact you and either offer an alternative or give you a full refund, including any delivery charge.
Product images are for illustration. Colours can vary slightly between screens and production batches. Sizes vary between brands and within the manufacturer's tolerances. Our fit notes are our honest guidance, not a guarantee.
6. Delivery
We deliver to UK addresses only. Delivery options, costs and timescales are on our Delivery page and at checkout. Delivery dates are estimates. We'll do our best to meet them, but we aren't responsible for delays caused by events outside our control (see section 11).
Items sent without a signature may be left in a safe place if you're not in. If your order is late or missing, please contact us and we'll work with the courier to resolve it.
The products are your responsibility from the time they're delivered to the address you gave us. You own the products once we have received payment in full.
7. Your right to cancel and our returns policy (consumers)
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you can cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day you receive it. On top of that, our own returns policy gives you 30 days from delivery to return items you don't want.
- To cancel or return, follow the steps on our Returns page, or tell us clearly in writing, for example through our contact page.
- You must send the items back within 14 days of telling us you're cancelling.
- Items should be unworn, unwashed and in their original condition and packaging, with tags attached. You may handle and try on items as you would in a shop. Please try footwear on indoors on a clean surface. We may reduce your refund if an item has been used or handled more than this.
- Unless the item is faulty or we sent the wrong thing, you pay the cost of returning it. If you use our Royal Mail return service, we take £2.49 off your refund.
- We refund you within 14 days of receiving the items back, or of you showing us that you have sent them, to your original payment method. If you cancel within the 14-day legal period, we also refund the standard delivery charge you paid, but not the extra cost of any faster delivery service you chose.
8. Faulty or incorrect items
We sell products that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If you are a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you these rights:
- Up to 30 days after delivery, you can reject a faulty item and get a full refund.
- After 30 days, you're entitled to a repair or replacement. If that isn't possible or doesn't fix the fault, you can get a refund, which may be reduced to reflect the use you've had.
- Up to six years after delivery, you may be entitled to a remedy if the item doesn't last as long as it reasonably should. In the first six months, it's assumed that a fault was there at delivery unless we can show otherwise.
Please tell us as soon as possible if something arrives damaged, short or wrong, ideally with a photo, so we can claim from the courier. Faults don't include normal wear and tear, damage caused by misuse, accidents or not following care instructions, or sizing within the manufacturer's tolerances. Where a manufacturer offers its own warranty, this is in addition to your legal rights, and we'll help you use it.
9. Business customers
If you buy as a business, the consumer rights in sections 7 and 8 don't apply to you by law. You can still use our 30-day returns policy and our faulty goods process. Trade account customers are also covered by the credit terms agreed when the account was opened. If those terms and these terms conflict, the trade account terms apply.
For business customers, our total liability for any order is limited to the price paid for that order. We aren't liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of production, downtime or any indirect or consequential loss.
10. Our responsibility to consumers
If we fail to keep to these terms, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our negligence. We aren't responsible for loss or damage that isn't foreseeable. We only supply products for domestic and private use and for normal trade use as described. We aren't liable for business losses where you have bought as a consumer.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law, including your rights under consumer law.
11. Events outside our control
We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, courier or postal disruption, strikes, supply shortages or IT failures. If this affects your order, we'll contact you as soon as possible. If the delay is likely to be significant, you can cancel and get a refund for anything you have paid but not received.
12. Promotions and discount codes
Offers and discount codes are subject to the conditions shown with them, can't be exchanged for cash, and may be withdrawn at any time. Unless stated, only one code can be used per order. If you return part of an order bought on a multi-buy or bundle offer, your refund reflects the price you actually paid for the items you return.
13. Using our website
The content of this website belongs to Toolmonkey Ltd or is used with permission. Brand names, logos and product images belong to their owners. Please don't copy or reuse our content without permission. We aren't responsible for the content of external websites we link to.
We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy policy and Cookie policy.
14. Complaints and the law
If you have a problem, please contact us first. We'll do our best to sort it out quickly. If you're a consumer and aren't happy with our response, you can get free advice from Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk, 0808 223 1133).
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you're a consumer, you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live. Business customers agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

You have 3 working days after delivery to inspect any clothing including boots and shoes for manufacturing faults and be in good condition.
Please contact us within this time frame if any faults are found. We will then assist you in rectifying any issues found.
The right to reject
When you buy an item of clothing that is faulty, you are entitled to a full refund so long as no more than 30 days have passed, starting on the first day after you became the owner of the item or after when it was delivered.
You won't be entitled to this refund if you had a reasonable opportunity to examine the item when buying it and the fault was so obvious that you should have noticed it.
If the item has been worn a few times any faults that may occur with be accessed on a case by case bases under fair wear and tear. Photo evidence may have to be provided.
Sale price will also be taken into account along with all other factors when a claim is made. The more expensive the item the better made it should be and last longer. This does not include accidental damage or misuse. An example would be buying £15 running shoes and then raising a claim after running a 23 mile marathon. This would fall under Fair wear and tear and no refund or replacement would be offered.
Remember that no items last forever and all clothes need to be looked after to avoid unnecessary damage. However, if there are genuine problems with an item of clothing, we will help to get this rectified.

Our performance under any Contract is deemed to be suspended for the period that the Force Majeure Event continues, and we will have an extension of time for performance for the duration of that period. We will use our reasonable endeavours to bring the Force Majeure Event to a close or to find a solution by which our obligations under the Contract may be performed despite the Force Majeure Event.
